From the mountains to the see
Our bulthaup partners in Pamplona and San Sebastián show us their versatility with their summer range between two opposite poles: a house in the mountains, deep in the forest, and another one near the shore, blown by the sea breeze.
Up in the mountain, tall trees border the clearing around a double-height rectangular prism with a nod to Mies van der Rohe: upstairs, a solid structure covered in natural cedar wood, and downstairs, a single glass volume with a bulthaup kitchen at center stage. The austerity of the tall black units setting a backdrop for a large white island equipped with a stovetop and a sink is softened by the constant presence of the outdoors: a kitchen in the forest.
Down by the sea, the interiors are more private, sheltered against the sun and wind. Venetian blinds filter the light that pours in the windows of a kitchen designed in shades of white over a warm oak wood floor: a space among the shadows of the sea.
In the large open space at the heart of each one of these homes, the kitchen is key: it becomes the meeting point that turns them into peaceful havens, seeking the light or the shade.
Two landscapes, two living spaces.
